Produced as an educational companion to the Academy Award® nominated IMAX® film, Dolphins, the video extends the giant screen experience from the theater into the classroom. Offbeat interviews with marine biologists and dazzling underwater footage combine to create a fun program encouraging students to explore marine science as a career. The video is also a featured bonus on the films DVD. The CINE Golden Eagle is the third award bestowed upon Marine Science: Exploring the Deep, which earned a CINDY Award and TELLY Award for excellence in non-broadcast educational programming. Founded in 1957, CINE recognizes the highest quality in film and video production. Its semi-annual competitions involve hundreds of media specialists who judge entries in several moving-image genres. The judging procedure is a multi-stage jury process that determines which productions exhibit excellent filmmaking craftsmanship and are thereby deserving of the coveted CINE Golden Eagle.
